Hey. I’m Kayla, owner of LivingWell Nutrition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
I’m a functional medicine dietitian, gut health expert and root cause seeker. I am committed to bettering myself through functional nutrition and exercise and am passionate about helping others do the same. I have loved creating meals since the days of play food and Easy Bake Ovens. Of course, most of my “homemade” creations involved a lot of sugar at the time, but, nonetheless, I always wanted food to taste great and look pretty. It seems until illness or disease hits, we trick ourselves into thinking that our bodies are invincible.
After developing a gluten sensitivity my Junior year of high school, having a mother with Hashimoto's disease, a father with kidney disease, and grandparents with Alzheimer's disease, nutrition has always been at the center of my world. In each of these cases, nutrition has been crucial in managing chronic illness. Seeing the power of nutritional interventions in my family motivates me to help others do the same.
By getting to the root cause and providing personalized, functional interventions — I believe change is possible.
