FUNCTIONAL GUT HEALTH DIETITIAN
Oh hii, again. I’m Kayla!
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to help others achieve wellness through an integrative and functional medicine approach. As our world is ever changing it can be difficult to find the right person to truly walk with you on your health journey.
I’ll never forget the summer of my Junior year of college. I was home, following a super healthy diet, working out everyday, studying my booty off for the GRE when all the sudden I noticed myself starting to gain weight and feel nauseous regularly.
I COULDN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG, I WAS DOING “ALL THE RIGHT THINGS”.
After several blood and food sensitivity tests, I learned I not only had additional intolerances but a high homocysteine level. I was so confused, high homocysteine is typically caused by poor diet and lack of exercise? But not this time.
By approaching my health through a holistic lens, I learned that so many more factors were at play aside from just diet and exercise. I later came to realize I was not only putting my body under immense stress but that I also had a genetic mutation in my MTHFR gene. I wasn't able to methylate my B vitamins well, ultimately driving my homocysteine to rise. Addressing my health concerns using a root cause approach changed my life! Not only was I able to get my homocysteine level down from a 14 to a 7 in just a few months but I finally started feeling back to myself! In this season of my life, I learned invaluable health lessons that continue to drive my passion to help others achieve wellness.
The word living is often defined as the pursuit of a specific type of lifestyle. The word well means to be in good health, free or recovered from illness. So how do we achieve the art of living well? In my world it’s done through nutrition!!

I am not here to put you on another diet, to throw supplements and medications at you. My goal is to come alongside you, listen, educate and work with you at the functional level striving towards life changing transformations. I am here to help you understand your labs, provide practical next steps & be a resource along the way.
Prior to working one on one with Kayla I was unsure where to go and what to use to feel better to heal my stomach issues. Discouraged and confused.
After our first meeting, I knew I could trust her, that she wasn’t overcharging me & made good use of our meetings together. I am now able to implement methods to lower stress, able to manage my diet and feel better mind, body and soul.
If you are living with stomach issues or hormone imbalances, you should invest in your health to feel better! There are so many things you can do to improve your holistic health without taking a pill or taking super drastic measures. You will love working with Kayla! She is very positive and will encourage you to be your best.
